Benedicite

The Latin word “benedicite” can, in a certain context, mean “welcome!” In essence it means much more: it is a blessing. So it is something good and precious that each guest brings with him or her. It is St Benedict’s conviction that it is Christ Himself who comes to us in each guest. This is why each person coming to us deserves our respect and attention. From this point of view no guest comes “by chance” but is brought to us by God who gives us His blessing with this very person. In this there is a hidden value both for you and for us.

Rooms

Our guest house offers 18 beds in 10 bedrooms.

There is a bathroom in every room (washbasin, shower, toilet) and wi-fi. The rooms are named after personalities who took part in building or artistic designing of our pilgrimage site, e.g. J. B. Santini, C. D. Asam, K. I. Dientzenhofer, O. Mayer, J. A. Schöpf etc.

Common Room

In the common room there is a kitchinette which is provided with a fridge, cooker and oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker and all the dishes necessary for cooking and serving. We do not provide meals, we can offer only–by prior arrangement–breakfast buffet. In our dining room it is possible to buy some drinks or to borrow a book. From the dining room it is possible enter the garden terrace or go to the parking.

Guests

Everybody who seeks some space to quieten down, to distance oneself from the world for some time or who looks for a place where he or she can work without being disturbed–an individual, a family or a group regardless their faith–is welcome as our guest.
Our chapel is open to everyone at any time, either for their personal prayer or they can join the convent sisters’ prayer. Guests are, of course, provided with the keys to the convent so that they can leave the house as they wish.

PILGRIMS AND INDIVIDUAL GUESTS
Every man and woman is a pilgrim on the way of his life. For some, our pilgrimage site may be the destination of their journey, for others it may be a stop on the way to their destination. One purpose of a pilgrimage may be a need to find the way to oneself and to stay with oneself. On this pilgrimage, both physical and spiritual, we can be accompanied by God more or less noticeably. One can find it helpful to join the common prayer of sisters, spend time alone in the chapel, go for a walk around the pilgrimage site or stay in the convent garden. In case of interest it is possible to arrange a personal meeting with one of the sisters.

GROUPS
We offer accommodation for organised groups as well that intend to pursue their own programme which can be:

- spiritual
- educational
- artistic (music, painting, dancing and the like)
- working meetings (a video projector and a flip chart are available).

GENERAL INFORMATION
- the place is close both to the city centre (20 mins by public transport) and to the airport (10 mins by car)
- there is a shopping centre nearby as well as a restaurant, pizzeria and confectionery
- nature is within easy reach: either a park with the well-known Star Summer House (Letohrádek Hvězda) or the nature reserve Divoká Šárka
- guests can park their cars in a locked parking area
